Spousal support and maintenance

Maintenance where a spouse has left the home, including where a return has been refused for good reason.

Spousal maintenance depends on why the spouse left the home. If a wife has moved out and the husband offers to maintain her on condition that she returns, the court looks at whether she has good reason to refuse. Where she does, the court may order the husband to pay maintenance.
